Super fun, super engaging, action packed, keeps ’em moving. My son LOVED it. Thank you!
Parents love our camp as much as kids do. After each camp session, we send parents a survey soliciting feedback on their child’s camp experience. Below we share some of those comments with you.

Everything is so well organized and efficient. The camp staff is incredibly friendly, fabulous with the kids and so "customer focused" More so than many adults in the customer service industry! They make camp so much fun for the kids. My son felt like he had a "personal relationship" with his counselor and with most of his instructors.
Super fun, super engaging, action packed, keeps 'em moving. My son LOVED it. Thank you!
I love the organization and emphasis on fun for the kids. The facilities and environment are amazing.
The staffing is excellent - especially having both male and female counselors/teachers. Overall the staff has a great, positive energy for the kids. The drop off/pick up is great. The schedule each day is very clear for the kids.
I'm not sure what kind of magic is being worked but my bookworm-ish little girl is coming home saying she likes basketball better than art! It's clear that you are all providing a supportive, encouraging environment where my kind of child can take risks and try new things. I'm beyond impressed, too, with the logistics & cheerful staff always willing to lend a hand or answer a question.
Outstanding counselors, even the young ones that are in training, make this program great. Such enthusiasm.
"This is our first summer with kids attending Cal Adventures camp and I must say it was AMAZING!"
"I have a child that is cautious, sensitive, and not into team sports. He fell in love with sailing and truly excelled at it. He had two friends going at the same time and all had a great time. They learned a lot and I was impressed with the updates each day of what they did."
"I cannot recommend Cal Adventures' outdoor camps enough!"
The kids get to spend concentrated time on the water, really learning, having fun and growing. The camp also recruits extremely high quality staff. These young men and women really impressed me.
Great Camp! Provided the opportunity for my son to get outside, climb, and have fun.
Excellent staff, lots of different activities. My kids learned to sail, kayak, windsurf, and rock climb all in one summer.
Exposed my kids to a lot of different options of outdoor things to do around the Bay area.
Rock climbing rocked!
My son had a wonderful experience at Explorer Camp and I am very impressed with the program. The staff is EXCELLENT. And the schedule/activities are all very well thought out. I would highly recommend this program to others and will be sure to enroll my son in other Cal camps in future years.
This camp is well-managed with strong leadership and professionalism from all of its counselors. My child was introduced to so many activities that she would not typically be interested in doing (e.g. football), but she tried it and liked it thanks to your team.
He gained so much confidence swimming! He had to overcome his fear of putting his head under the water which he did with the help of his wonderful swim coach!! He LOVED the nature hike. Honestly, he had a fantastic time. We’ll be back for sure!!
The logistic is perfect, and impressive, given the number of kids there. The ratio teacher/kids is also good. On many occasions, my son came back home proud to have learned new skills (swimming, soccer, baseball, safety).
Excellent staff, solid facilities, quality equipment, fabulous organization, wide range of activities, super enthusiastic staff, concern for things like sunscreen...
Engages the children and makes them feel valued and safe and comfortable! Introduces the kids to activities they have not been exposed to before: rugby and lacrosse!
The mix of sports and learning was great. I liked having a schedule and having some indication as to what my child is doing all day. The counselors helped him get over his shyness.
My daughter has had so much fun and is getting great experience with a diversity of sports. The counselors are outstanding – firm, fun, and encouraging.
They enjoy going to camp each day. They engage in many different activities. They love their counselors (they are the best!) and the friends that they make. They never feel left out or excluded.
The camp was well run and I think what we appreciated the most was the non-competitive, fun and team-building/cooperative approach to the games/sports. That’s a great base for her to have, and she is a child who holds back in sports settings and it was good for her. Thank you.
My eight year-old daughter has been loving gymnastics at Golden Bear for three years now. She has been inspired by her coaches and has absolutely thrived. Both as a gymnast and a person.
My daughter would love to be here all day, every day. Every coach she has worked with has been incredibly intelligent and highly skilled, and above all, gentle and compassionate. This is a great program for all kinds of kids -- those who want to run around and have fun and those who are passionate about gymnastics.
Golden Bear is an excellent gymnastics academy if you want your child to grow into a confident person, because this place prioritizes self-respect, self-confidence and discipline.
The combination of Science And Sport is really good. The orientation, the overall flow of the camp, and the science topics are really good and fit to their age group.
My son loved the camp, loved going, loved talking about it and seemed to have been very stimulated both intellectually and physically.
Combining learning with sports! It’s a great combo! It seems they really care about the kids, i.e., reminding them to put SPF on Not all camps do that well.
Organization, counselor’s enthusiasm and content are all an A+. When I envisioned summer camp this is exactly what I had in mind for my son. Thank you Cal camp counselors and directors!
Overall, I think the structure of the combined academic learning and sports program is fantastic and is definitely ideal for a full-day camp. It allows for opportunities of engagement from children throughout the day.
I love the combination of high-quality science programming with the active and outdoorsy afternoon. It’s perfect!!
The science program seemed to be really top rate. I also appreciated the swimming meeting my child at her skill level. The balance of indoor/outdoor and intellectual/physical activity is just perfect for her.
The combination of a science type program combined with athletics is a winning combination.
It's quite unique in our experience to find a group of kids of such varied skill levels and ages who work together so beautifully to form such a deeply positive and encouraging community -- individuals are challenged to do their best and, when they're ready, to exceed what they think of as their best, but never to directly compete against others. Everyone is welcome and encouraged no matter what their level of experience or skill. The kids respect one another, just as the instructors respect the kids; rudeness and one-upmanship have no place there. If you attend an exhibition event on the last Friday of each two-week session, you see it quite clearly: even the youngest, least-skilled beginners are applauded and cheered by the older and more experienced kids. These kids are learning valuable life skills, not just skateboard techniques. This is a remarkable achievement.
My son had a fabulous time at skate camp this summer. This was his fourth year, and his skating and confidence really took off. There is no doubt in his mind that this is truly the best summer camp and I agree!
I wanted to let everyone in the camp "loop" know how impressed our family has been with skateboard camp over the past few summers... The level of instruction provided and maturity of the counselors is admirable. Clearly, the hiring has been very carefully done and with forethought not just for skating and teaching ability, but also for ability to work well with all types of kids. I appreciate that the counselors provide the kids with a good example of someone they can look up to.
What has always impressed me about the program is that it teaches more than just good skateboarding skills but also how to be respectful skaters and people. [Camp Director] Sean has created a positive learning environment for the kids. Whenever I’ve gone to watch the skating demonstrations, I’m always struck by how focused and positive everyone is there, which is unique for any camp.
Positive, professional and enthusiastic staff that allow children to progress and learn in a sensitive and caring way, meeting various needs.
You guys are doing a great job. Your teachers are phenomenal.
Great instructors, great job building relationship with child to help them get in the water and try new things.
Great, patient and enthusiastic instructors! We have been super happy with them!
